FAQs When Ordering Custom T-Shirts

It may be exciting to start creating your brand apparel. However, there are many questions that you should ask before getting started. We have collected the most frequently asked questions to help you:

Which Artwork is Acceptable?

Many formats can be used depending on the size of the design, but a PDF is preferred by most. To avoid blurry printing or distortions, ensure your designs are of the highest quality (at least 300 d.p.i).

It is also essential to decide whether you want your file saved in CMYK, or RGB. CMYK is the preferred format for printing T-shirts. It is easy to modify your design in Photoshop if it is not saved in CMYK.

BEWARE: Photoshop effects may not be compatible with T-shirt printing; Drop shadows, faded edges, and glow effects.

What’s The Best Placement and Size For My Artwork?

It all comes down to personal preference. However, there are some guidelines you should keep in mind depending on where you want to place your design. The best places for large images are on the front (Oversized placement) or the back (Full Back). These sizes are generally 30x35 cm but can sometimes be as large as 40cm.

You can place it on the Left Chest (7-10 cm), the Upper Back (5-10cm), or the Sleeves (2-10cm). For medium designs, the best places are on the upper back and center chest. If you're still not sure, ask your printer.

Can I mix the Shirt Sizes in My Order?

T-shirt printers generally allow you to print the same design in different sizes; you must choose how many you need of each. If you don't know what the sizes of your recipients are, this is a good guideline for how many you should order:

XS: 1%

S: 7%

M: 28%

L: 30%

XL: 20%

2XL: 12%

3XL: 2%

How can I make my print last longer?

Unsurprisingly, we want our branded T-shirts to last as long as possible when ordering them. These are the top tips to prolong the life of your favorite t-shirt:

  1. Use cold water.
  2. Avoid using bleach or other heavy detergents.
  3. Your dryer should be set at a moderate temperature.
  4. Turn your shirt inside out.
  5. Wash other similar items.
