Washington revels in December

Arlington can enjoy winter solstice activities with 2020 Winter Solstice Revels coming online in mid-December.

The event will broadcast live with its traditional singalongs, Washington Revels Brass, and virtual adult, teen and children choruses. Happenstance Theater and long-time Revel friends, Sabrina Mandell and Mark Jaster will present a mummers play. Rock Creek Morris and Foggy Bottom Morris will dance the Abbots Bromely Horn Dance.

Organizers are getting brochure printing done so they can send “Deck The Halls” programs to tickets holders. These programs will contain singalong lyrics and directions on how to stage patrons’ homes with the proper props and lights in order to get the most out of the viewing experience.

Two viewing options are available. The live option enables the viewer to see the program and participate in some of the live elements. The second way to watch the event will be the pre-recorded option. This will be access to the pre-recorded performance once the live performance has taken place.

Tickets are $35 per device and on sale now. Access links will be sent to the ticket purchaser.

This performing arts event is asking patrons to add donations to their ticket orders to help the theater through this difficult time.

Live performance of the 2020 Winter Solstice Revels will be Sunday, December 20 beginning at 7:00 pm. Subsequent recording of the performance will be available December 23 through January 6.
