Walk will raise funds for canine companions

The Dog Fest Walk 'n Roll event is taking place next month in Arlington. It is a fundraising event for Canine Companions for Independence.

This is a national event and is held in several cities throughout the United States. Those who wish to participate collect pledges or donations from friends, family, and coworkers. They can take part as a team or as an individual, and all walkers will also have the opportunity to design their own T-shirt. Those who raise at least $100 will be given a bandana for their dog to wear.

The event will start off with opening ceremonies and then the walk will be followed by a festival. There will be entertainment from musicians such as Alicia Rae, a guest appearance by Ms. Maryland, Amber Schroen, and plenty of family-friendly activities. Food and drink will also be available for purchase. Local vendors are expected to be on hand to promote their businesses or organizations, no doubt handing out items such as Brochures and Posters.

Vendors will probably contact their favorite Arlington brochure printers to order promotional pieces that will be handed out during the festival.

The Dog Fest Walk 'n Roll will be held on Pentagon Row on September 12 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. To find out more about the walk, to register, or to learn about the Canine Companions for Independence, call 631-561-0206.
