Tournament raises funds for Arlington students

The 9th annual Scholar's Cup is being presented by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce this September.

All of the proceeds go to support the chamber's Rich Doud Scholarship Fund, which provides higher education scholarships to two graduating high school students each year.

There is a miniature golf tournament, which is followed by a barbecue dinner. Participants play in teams of four, and compete for prizes in several contests. The event is open to people of all ages.

For those Chamber members attending, this is an excellent networking opportunity. It will give them a chance to possibly discuss business in a casual and relaxing manner. Just as a lot of business is done over the regular golf course, the mini golf course may also offer the same environment for conversation.

Those who plan to use this as an Arlington networking event are probably already thinking about placing their next business card printing order. They will want their cards to be in good shape, and to ensure that all of the information included is correct.

The Scholar's Cup is being held at Upton Hill Regional Park on September 17th, from 3:30pm - 7:00pm. Fees are $25 for those aged 16 and over, $15 for those under 15, and $80 for a team of four. Tickets for the dinner only are $10 each. For more information on the tournament or the scholarships, call 703-523-2400.
