The Capital Fringe Festival is taking place in Washington, D. C. this July for just under three weeks.
The festival will take place at various venues in the city, including the Goethe Institut, Fort Fringe, and Atlas Performing Arts. There will be performances in many genres, including comedy, dance, drama, cabaret, and musical theater. Some of this year’s titles are ‘About a Girl’, ‘Balloon Plays’, and ‘Empress of the Moon’, some of which are more suitable for those over the age of 18.
There will also be several other activities taking place during the run of the festival, including the Training Factory workshops. These will cover subjects such as how to fringe, an introduction to publishing, and self-producing. They will all take place at the MLK Library.
Several social events will also be taking place at the Baldacchino tent bar, and an official T-shirt is available for $20.
Festivals such as this are a great way to introduce many to alternative performers and for those performers to get the exposure they need. Visitors will likely travel from all over to attend the festival, including from nearby Arlington. Organizers have likely been working with local Stationery printers to produce Posters and Flyers to help spread the word.
