The New Year’s Eve Stroll and Campfire will take place at the Gulf Branch Nature Center in Arlington on December 31 from 6-7:30 pm. This family-event will excite the nature lover in your family.
Those attending will have the chance to explore the park; bringing a flashlight is recommended, as is dressing warmly. Your New Year’s resolutions or hopes for next year can be written down and then be tossed into the “wishing campfire.” Admission is $5 and can be purchased in advance.
The Gulf Branch Nature Center features several nature centers which strive to educate the public about the natural beauty and environment that surrounds them. The Center offers education programs for people of all ages; there are also several ongoing exhibits, a classroom which seats 20, a Children’s Discovery Center, a live animal exhibit room, a bee hive that can be observed, a restored log cabin and a pond. The “pollinator garden” is teeming with pollen and nectar-rich flowers.
The Gulf Branch Nature Center is supported by the Friends of Gulf Branch Nature Center. The recent Give Hope alternative gift fair, which was held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Arlington helped to raise funds for the Friends. A flyer printing with information about the gift fair states all that needs to be said about this event; “Give Hope” appears in large Print. Several Arlington charities benefited from the event and items can still be purchased online until December 20. Your friends and family would appreciate a gift that is truly from the heart.
