Street festival set to host expert chili cooks

The 18th annual Clarendon Day Street Festival is taking place towards the end of this month. Visitors are encouraged to bring their dogs with them.

Guests will be able to sample food from a variety of local restaurant and try craft beer and local wines. There are set to be five stages providing entertainment, and some of the acts confirmed to appear this year are the Slam Allen Band, Muddy Crows, Footwerk, Carly Harvey, and Annie Stokes.

Local artists will be selling their handmade items on Arts and Crafts Promenade. Commercial vendors will also be on hand, and nonprofit organizations will be providing information about their programs and services. The Kids' Zone will have carnival rides, storytellers, and face painting.

In addition to the other activities, there will be a Pacers 10K or 5K and a Kids Dash. Fees are $50 for both the 10K and 5K, and $10 for the dash. All participants will receive a T-shirt.

Another popular part of the festival will be the International Chili Cook-off Tournament, which will raise funds for the Wounded Warrior's Project.

This popular event attracts approximately 30,000 visitors each year from Arlington and surrounding communities. Local Print companies may help advertise by providing Flyers.

The Clarendon Day Street Festival will take place on September 26 from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM at the Clarendon Metro Station.
