Arlington’s Thomas Jefferson Theater will be presenting the 34th Annual Argentine Festival in mid-September.
The in-person day-long event will feature Argentine food, music, and culture, with the intent to bring Latin-American generations and cultures together.
Live entertainment, including tango, Argentine folklore, and Latino pop and rock will be provided by international and local talent. Some of the 35 artists on the bill will be Anabella Lapasta, Folklore Dancers, Gina Yor, Liza and Alexey Semyondy, and Salva Toke. The main show begins at 5:50 pm.
Around 35 artisans and craftspeople will be selling their work, and over a dozen small local businesses will exhibiting and selling their goods and services. Outdoor family activities will include soccer.
A food truck will have treats, and grill masters from Tran Argentine Barbeque will be holding an Argentine asado (grill party).
Adult early bird tickets are $20 and event-day tickets will be $30. Tickets for kids under 12 years old will be $15. Along with admission, the tickets will be good for one raffle ticket each. The grand prize will be a round trip ticket from D.C. to Buenos Aires.
Local businesses that have a large Latino customer base often sponsor events such as this and have pictures taken during the event. These photos frequently go to local Print shops to be included in their advertising brochure printing.
