The Arlington Peruvian Festival is just weeks away from its 30th anniversary. It will feature authentic Peruvian cuisine, music, and dancing. The family-oriented event will be free.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, find a good location, and enjoy the afternoon listening to music from entertainers such as guitarists Manuel Ercilla and Victor Padilla, and vocalists Javier Saenz, Erika Reikendorf, Maritza Torres, and Dayan Aldana. Also on the day’s entertainment agenda will be electric guitarist Alex Chacaltana and singers Jesus Marmolejo and Tito Polar.
Dancing duos and teams will also be performing. Some of these will be Jolgorio, Papalca Macion Wanda, Chalan Wilde Moran, and Estampas Peruanas de VA con Pacasito. Other dancers will be Sentimiento Peruana, Grupo Etnia, and the duo Danzante de Tijeras Infernal y Maldicion de Huancavelica.
Peruvian gastro delights that will be available for purchase will include chicken chili and ceviche, which is a popular seafood dish.
Guests will no doubt be taking pictures during this event, which will make colorful subjects for future poster printing or personalized Stationery.
The fun will be at the Gunston Middle School Outdoor Soccer Field at 2700 South Lang Street here in Arlington from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 23. Those interested may want to register online to be entered in the many drawings for prizes throughout the day, including a $100 gift card.
