Music festival to turn up the heat

The Shirlala Music Festival is continuing throughout the summer, taking place every Thursday from up until August and hosted by the Village at Shirlington.

The festival is a fundraiser for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. It features performers of various music styles each week, most of which are sure to appeal to visitors’ tastes.

Visitors can enjoy a performance from a different band each week and can purchase wine samples for $5 at the outdoor event. The music schedule for July (which may change at any time) is: July 3 - Taylor Carson, July 10 - Down Wilson, July 17 - Scott Paddock, July 24 – Ewabo, and July 31 - The Shack Band.

It is likely that this weekly festival will attract visitors from all over the Arlington area. To help advertise it, organizers may have invested in services such as flyer printing to help spread the word. Flyers are an inexpensive way to let the community know about upcoming events and can be distributed in several different ways.

The Shirlala Music Festival will be held every Thursday evening (weather permitting) at the Library/Signature Theater Plaza until August 21. Performances will take place from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm and are free to attend. For more information, visit the Village at Shirlington website.
