Friendship Place holds three fall events

Arlington locals can support Friendship Place, a housing service that provides shelters for D.C. and area homeless. The organization will host three virtual events over the coming months.

From 8:30 am until 9:30 am on Thursday, September 10, the organization will be hosting its 16th Annual Friends and Neighbors Fundraising Breakfast. This will be a virtual event and an RSVP will be required. The event will showcase Friendship Place’s history of eradicating homelessness in D.C. and the surrounding areas.

On Thursday, October 8, from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm, Friendship Place will present its annual symposium. This year’s topic will be about housing solutions. The symposium, composed of a panel of local leaders, will discuss concrete steps that can be taken to move a family from short-term accommodation, to housing supported by vouchers, and finally to low-cost regional options. This virtual program also requires registration.

Finally, on Saturday, November 14, from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm, there will be a virtual Friendship Walks 2020. This annual walk has been created to bring resources to tackle and raise awareness of the DC homeless situation. All proceeds will go to Friendship Place.

Organizations that sponsor fundraisers like these, especially those outdoor events like walks and races, often distribute colorful T-Shirts that sport their event’s graphic design or the organization’s Logo Design.

Friendship Place’s Welcome Center is located at 4713 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington DC.
