Event to recognize two leaders who believe in second chances

The OAR Second Chance fundraising breakfast is taking place this April in Arlington. This event is the major fundraiser for the organization, and will honor a pair of officials for their attitude to employing released criminals.

This is a free breakfast for the community, and coffee will be served while guests are arriving. Attendees can donate what they wish during the event.

Over breakfast, guests will hear from a number of speakers, including volunteers, clients and leaders in the community on how the organization has impacted their lives. In addition, Barbara Donnellan, Arlington County Manager, and Mayor William D. Euille of Alexandria will be honored for having the question of whether or not an applicant has been convicted of a crime removed from their job applications.
Offender Aid and Restoration (OAR) has been in operation for 41 years and is dedicated to helping released criminals fit back into the community and to avoid reoffending.

Sponsorships are available for Arlington companies that wish to help support the organization. Those who do become sponsors may further help by investing in services such as flyer printing to pass the word about this event onto their customers.

The OAR Second Chance fundraising breakfast will be held at the Sheraton Pentagon City on April 8 from 7:15 to 9:00 PM. Admission and parking are both free. To RSVP, find out more information, or become a sponsor, contact Gail Arnall at 702-228-7437.
