Arlington to get a start on the holidays

It will soon be time to kick off the holiday season, and the Twelfth Annual Dominion Hills Craft Show in Arlington is planning to do just that.

This year’s holiday show will display works of 12 local and regional artists and craftsmen. Admission will be free and organizers promise that the pricing will be reasonable.

With such a select slate of exhibitors, there will be no media overlap. That will mean there will only be one exhibitor per genre, with painting, paper cutting, fine woodturning, sculpture, natural cleansing products, pottery, sweets and glassware all featuring. Guests will want to bring their digital Business Cards so they can contact their favorite artists later for custom work.

Featured artists will include jeweler Julie Jernigan from Jule’s Jewels, modern and traditional fabric artists Nancy Myers and Joan Young from Myers &Young Designs, and mixed media artist Elisabeth Hudgens. Other exhibitors will be paper cutting expert Dave Jenkins, Bryan Jernigan displaying his home comforts and acrylics, and Moon O'Connor with her functional and decorative pottery. Examples of the pastel on paper artwork that will be at the show can be viewed on the event’s website.

The show is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Dominion Hills Area Recreation Association Community House, 6000 Wilson Blvd, Arlington.
