Arlington says laissez les bons temps rouler!

Mardi Gras is just around the corner, and those here in Arlington may enjoy the festivities both in town and around our area.

Nola Mardi Pardi will take place next Tuesday, February 13 at 1515 Courthouse Road. From 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, the Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar and Eatery will be the local Mardi Gras Headquarters offering king cakes, donuts, special daiquiris, and a “Mardi Gras in a Box” containing a king cake, party games, beads, masks, doubloons, and hurricane mix.

From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, for the 13th year, New Orleans chef David Guas will be preparing authentic dishes such as jambalaya, gumbo, red beans and rice, and muff-a-lottas (Sicilian sesame bread sandwiches), and famous drinks in Bayou Bakery's Bayou-Gras '24. A la carte desserts will include beignets, pralines, and slices of king cake. Live music will be provided by Nick Adde and his Trio.

A few days before, the Wharf in DC will hold a Mardi Gras Parade this Saturday, February 10. The event will open with Mardi Gras activities at 3:00 pm, followed by the parade at 3:30 pm. Live music will be at District Pier from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm and a firework display will start at 6:30 pm.
