Many Washington DC holiday events are remaining open into the new year but there are only a few days left.
Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens at 4155 Linnean Avenue NW is extending its Season’s Greetings until January 10th. Guests can visit the Christmas season decorative former home of Marjorie Merriweather Post, browse in the gift shop and stroll the outdoor gardens festooned with Christmas trees and view a special exhibition. A virtual tour of the estate is also available online. Kids may enjoy the interactive Snow Maiden story.
The venue will be open Tuesdays through Sundays from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
The 5th annual Light Yards: “Stars” will also remain open until the 10th. This is a light installation on the park’s Sundeck. Designed by light design sculptors Amigo & Amigo from Australia the exhibit is a series of twinkling metallic mesh stars which are accompanied by festive music. The stars can be viewed from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm nightly at Yards Park, 355 Water Street SE.
ARTECHOUSE, 1238 Maryland Avenue SW, will continue showing an exhibit focusing on Classic Blue -Pantone’s Color of the Year. Guests will journey through a castle that merges surreal with reality as they stroll through rooms filled with blue curiosities. The exhibit will run until February 28, 2021.
Venues that offer holiday events like these often have current photos taken to local Print shops to be added to their new year advertising brochure printing.
