For the 22nd year, the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization and Arlington Arts will be hosting their Columbia Pike Blues Festival. The one-day festival will again be bringing regional and national blues, funk, and R&B artists to Arlington.
The headliner this year will be Bettye Lavette, a three-time Grammy nominee and winner of the 1916 Best Blues Female Artist Blues Music Award. Other performers include Full Power Blues Band and several other names from the genre.
Along with enjoying the music, guests can meander through the arts and crafts area and stop for food and beverages at the food vendors. Younger guests can take advantage of the many kid-oriented activities, such as face painting, moon bounce, and a selfie station. Music for Life will be raffling off a guitar, and the Arlington Public Library will be giving out free Books.
Local businesses and community groups will be displaying their goods and services. Many will be passing out Flyers, custom Business Cards, advertising materials, and possibly some Promotional Products at this event.
The festival is free to attend and will take place on Saturday, June 17. It will cover a three-block area around the intersection of Walter Reed Drive and Columbia Pike. The first performance will begin at 1:00 pm and Lavetteās program will start at 6:45 pm. The evening will wind down around 8:30 pm.
