Arlington gets into festive spirit

It will soon be time for the 3rd Annual Holiday Market Festival + Bonfire. The family-friendly event will offer Arlington locals a chance to get out and enjoy the holiday season while doing some seasonal shopping.

The festival will be a two-day event. Both days will feature food samples from local restaurants, arts and crafts booths offering unique holiday gift ideas, food trucks offering a variety of choices (including pizza), an early jazz performance, and an ongoing pop-up-boot camp for those looking to burn some calories. There will also be a holiday clothing drive held both days. Items needed include hats, gloves, sweatshirts, and coats.

The first day will also feature food samples of international cuisine from several restaurants, a children’s storytime, and free pictures with Santa Claus. The second day will feature singer/songwriter Jeff From Accounting and a holiday bonfire, along with seasonal music. Those planning to attend may want to bring their best camera for picture taking for possible use later in making Holiday Cards.

The festival will take place today, December 10, from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm and tomorrow from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Rosslyn's Gateway Park, 1300 Lee Highway, Arlington. Attendance is free. Attendees are advised to dress for the weather, as most activities will be outdoors, and to take the metro as parking is limited.
