The Organization of Women of the Americas will be holding its 18th annual Food Festival of the Americas in just a couple of weeks.
The event will offer food and entertainment from Haiti, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and the U.S. Proceeds will go to charities helping women and children of these countries.
Along with the cuisine from these countries, the entertainment will feature groups from around the world. Some of these will be from Panama, Bolivia, China, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Also on the program will be groups representing Jamaica, Argentina, Barbados, and a Latin American Band.
Another caveat to the evening will be the Grand Raffle which will take place in the middle of the event, during which prizes will be available. These include tickets for two to Mexico, five nights/four days in Barbados, a laptop computer, an Apple iPhone and two round-trip Amtrak train tickets.
Pictures taken at this event will make interesting subjects for travel brochure printing. The event is free, and a nice afternoon for Arlington families to enjoy experiencing other cultures and visiting the OAS site.
The festival will begin at 11:00 am and end at 5:00 pm on July 17th, on the grounds of the Organization of American States at the corner of 17th Street and Constitution Avenue, Washington D.C..
