Arlington science enthusiasts will be heading for the USA Science and Engineering festival coming in early April.
Organizers of this event tout it as the ‘nation’s largest celebration of STEM’, which is an initiative for promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in public schools. Over 350,000 attendees are expected.
The actual expo will be two days of over 390 exhibits from such organizations as NASA, Lockheed Martin, the U.S. Air Force and Army, Space X, and universities such as James Madison, Howard University, Harvard, and Georgetown.
Along with the opportunity to talk with scientists and experts in the field, the exhibits will have displays and interactive presentations that will demonstrate scientific principles and trends in the STEM fields. Along with careers, earth sciences, energy through sports, robotics, and health and medicine, the pavilion will have an aviation area of displays on how planes fly, the physics behind flying, and how aircraft is made.
Teachers, especially those in the sciences, will no doubt want to gather exhibitor Business Cards in order to contact these organizations and representatives for future resources for their classrooms.
The USA Science and Engineering Festival will be Saturday, April 7 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm and Sunday, April 8 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Walter I. Washington Convention Center, 801 Mr. Vernon Place, NW, Washington DC.
