Many Arlington residents are planning to support local charities during the holidays by running local races.
The annual Jingle Bell Run is being planned for Saturday, December 7th from 7:00 am when registration begins until 1:00 pm on Pentagon Row, 1101 S. Joyce Street. The run will begin at 9:00 am. Some teams that join an event like this one have flyer printing done and distribute Flyers in their work places and neighborhoods. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will go to the Arthritis Foundation.
The Jingle all the Way 5K and 15 k will be December 8th in downtown D.C. Runners will have the option to donate $5 to their favorite charities when they register. The course for both races will be flat and fast and will start and finish at the Washington Monument on 15th NW Street and take runners through the heart of D.C. Runners will receive purple and gold finisher medals complete with a moveable running snowman. The 5K starts at 8:00 am and the 15K will begin at 8:30 am.
Columbia Island will hold it 2019 Columbia Island 5k and 10K on December 15th from 8:00 am until 11:00 am. Registrants will receive event shirts, finisher’s medals. The course will follow the Potomac River and strollers and walkers will be welcome. This race will benefit CASA (Court appointed Special Advocates for children). The 10K will begin at 7:45 am and the 5K starts at 8:00 am.
