Fall is here and soon it will be Halloween, and there are many events in and around Arlington that will celebrate the season.
Runners will be heading out to Occoquan Regional Park, 9751 Ox Road, Lorton, to take join in the park’s first annual Halloween Hustle Trunk and Treat. The 5k and the 1.3-mile Fun Run will begin at the Brickyard 5k track Sunday, October 13th at 8:30 am. Those running the 5K will receive racing bibs, finisher medals, and along with those participating in the walk, race tees with the event Logo Design on the front.
At the end of the run/walk around 11:30 am, the Trunk or Treat will start. Everyone is encouraged to decorated their vehicles and bring plenty of candy. They will park at the designated area, open their decorated trunks and pass out candy. There will be a Best Trunk or Treat decorations contest.
Little ghosts and goblins and their families will be going to the Halloween Party/Haunted Nature Center on October 26 from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm at Potomac Overlook Regional Park here in Arlington. Along with a Halloween bash, there will be games, snacks, storytelling, and arts and crafts. Guides will be heading tours through the woods.
A scary Pumpkin Walk is scheduled for October 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Arlington Mill Community Center at Glencarlyn Park, 909 S. Dinwiddie Street. Afterwards, there will be art activities, moon bounces, and food vendors.
