Arlington area enjoys even more chocolate

Easter may be over, but the Chocolate House will hold its 2019 DC Chocolate Festival early in May.

Over 30 chocolate vendors, artisans, and chocolatiers from along the Mid-Atlantic will be offering samples of their fine chocolates. Some of these will include The Chocolate Moonshine Company, River-Sea, Heritage Chocolates, and Zoe’s Chocolate Company.

A Kid’s Class from 10:30 am until 11:00 am will start the event in the Tasting Room. This will be an interactive hands-on experience that will address chocolate and how to make it.

Megan Giller will then present a tasting and discussion of the Madagascar beans. The session will end with a book signing for her newest book - Bean-to-Bar Chocolate: America’s Craft Chocolate Revolution.

During the noon slot, Mark Christian from the C-Spot will present a lecture on understanding the wrapper and the flavor code, and starting the journey from cacao bean, to milk and dark chocolate.

Estelle Tracy will hold a chocolate party class in the afternoon. This will be a lecture on how to throw a chocolate fiesta.

Presenters at events such as this usually carry Business Cards in case anyone wants to get in touch with them at a later date.

The auditorium will have two screening of a ‘Bean to Bar’ film and a 45-minute presentation on cacao farming in Venezuela.

The Chocolate Festival will be May 4 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at the Embassy of France’s La Maison Francaise, 4101 Reservoir Road NW, Washington DC.
