Area running events are in-person and online

Arlington runners will have two racing options coming in December. One will be in-person and the other online.

The Washington DC version of the 2020 Run Run Rudolph will be held as a virtual 5K run/walk.

Registration will be $29. Participants will receive reindeer antler head bands, Rudolf running buffs, Tyvek Race bibs, and Run Run Rudolph Finisher Medals sporting noses that light up. Runners may also purchase either deep red long-sleeve finisher shirts featuring this year’s Logo Design, or holly red ones with a graphic design featuring a reindeer in a wreath.

Participants are to choose their own locations either indoors or out, set their own pace, and submit results to The Virtual Run Challenge website. Some may opt to run or walk their challenges in multiple parts.

Runners may run their races anytime from noon Tuesday, December 1 through Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:30 pm.

The Jingle All the Way 5k and 15K, a race/walk to benefit the Arthritis Foundation, will be an in-person event. This fast and flat course will take racers and walkers through downtown DC. Runners will get to view the Potomac River and many of the city’s celebrated monuments.

Jingle all the Way 5K will begin at 8:00 am December 13 on 15th Street, NW next to the Washington Monument. Half an hour later, the 15K will begin at the same location.
