Sugar Land holds cycling festival
Shred de Sugar Cycling Festival will be held here in Sugar Land in mid-September.
The opening day’s events will be Short Track XC. These bicycle races have specific times and prizes will be awarded to the winners. The day will feature 15-, 20-, 40-, and 50-minute races for men and women. Racing begins at 10:20 am, with the last one beginning at 5:42 pm.
The second day’s agenda will be Cyclo-Cross. It will start at 10:20 am and the last race will begin at 3:02 pm.
The closing Sunday will be TMBRA Cross-Country day. These races will be performed in specified laps with winners receiving prizes in some and cash awards in others. Men will have 20 races, women will have 15, and boys and girls will have three races each. These races begin at 8:00 am and the last one will start at 4:00 pm.
This year's cycling kits will be denim shirts and jorts sporting this year's graphic design. Cut jorts cost $120, race jerseys are $100, and relaxed fit jerseys are $75. Event T-shirts with the Shred de Sugar graphic design are also available for $25.
Shred de Sugar is a fundraising event for Suzannah Smiles, a 501(c)(3) that supports Texas's spina bifida community.
