New eatery to open in Dayton area
Taco John’s, a restaurant new to the Dayton area, will be opening on Wilmington Pike on the Meijer property.
This is a development that includes two multimillion-dollar apartment complexes near the big box retailer. Taco John’s would be the third project on the property.
The restaurant is across the street from Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken and will be on a lot that spans close to 1.5 acres and fronts the road. It will also be between a Burger King and a Popeye’s restaurant. Other restaurants in that area include Wendy’s and a McDonald’s. Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform residents of such upcoming projects.
The menu at Taco John’s features burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and desserts, as well as options for breakfast.
Amy Schrimp, Economic Development Manager for the city of Kettering where the eatery will be located, said this is a new chain in the Dayton area and expressed her pride that the chain selected Kettering for the restaurant. Schrimp added that this will help to diversify the dining options in the area.
Ana Pelhank, project manager for Meritage Hospitality Group, which is developing the restaurant, commented that the spot is in a busy area. Pelhank added that construction is expected to begin in the spring with an anticipated opening of August 2023.
