A new robotic fulfillment center for e-retail giant Amazon is now open in Dayton.
The fulfillment center spans 2.8 million square feet and is near the Dayton International Airport. It will be the home base for close to 2,000 people from the area. They will pick, pack, and ship smaller customer purchases such as toys, electronics, Books, and other items, and will be working with state-of-the-art robotics to fulfill multiple roles.
This new center expands Amazon’s already large logistics and operations network in Ohio. Over 37,000 part-time and full-time people already work for Amazon in the state following investments of over $20bn. Investments from Amazon have contributed $16m to the economy of Ohio and Amazon has indirectly created 68,000 more jobs. In addition, over 40,000 independent small and medium businesses and authors in the state are selling their Books through the website.
Banner printing can be used at such sites to announce the opening of such valuable economic additions to the area.
