Annual race to be held in West Berlin area
A charity run/walk is scheduled in April in neighboring town of Voorhees. West Berlin residents are welcome to attend.
The 5K Run and Walk 4 Family and Friends with Cancer has been an annual event for 12 years. It fundraises for the Jewish Family and Children's Service of Southern New Jersey and the University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center. JFCS has a program that provides financial assistance for cancer patients and their families.
The start and end of the race is at Voorhees Middle School at 1000 Holly Oak Drive. Registration for the run or the walk is $30 per person and $15 for children over the age of six. Online signup ends at 10:00 pm two days before the race.
Participants can register one day before the race at Road Runner Sports in Cherry Hill from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Shirts are available for those who registered before race day. Those who register on race day may receive a shirt while they are available.
Participants can also fundraise for the cause through the donations of friends and family. Race day registration opens one hour before the race.
For more information, interested parties can call Sue, the registration manager, at 609-332- 3139. The annual race this year will take place on April 26 at 8:30 am. At the time of writing, the event is still on, but it would be advisable to keep checking as time goes on.
