Parks and Recreation hosts late November events

The Department of Parks and Recreation in Maryland Heights has several events occurring in the coming days at the Community Center.

DPR will host Picasso's Palette on Wednesday, November 20 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Participants must be 18 or older and will follow simple instructions to paint on a canvas. They will learn blending colors, highlighting, and creating shadows. Bringing snacks and drinks is permitted and the theme for the month is Ornaments. The cost is $35 for members, $39 for residents, and $42 for non-residents. Registration is available online.

Sip and Shop will take place on Friday, November 22 from 5:00 pm until 8:30 pm. All ages are welcome to attend this free event. Participants can sample a free drink while shopping for the holidays. Several vendors will bring wares to sell and Business Cards for marketing. Other vendors are welcome to apply for a space in the community center for the event. The cost for vendors is $40 for nonresidents, $35 for residents, and $30 for members.

Also, children ages 5 to 10 are invited to come to Santa's Workshop on Saturday, November 30 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Kids will create gifts, wrap them, and pretend to be elves. Christmas movies will play in the background and there will be pizza for lunch. Registration is available online – the cost is $20 for members, $25 for residents, and $30 for non-residents.
