The Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri recently celebrated the opening of the Berges Family Girl Scout Program Center.
This brand new 6,500-square foot facility located in Maryland Heights, is the first of its kind in the organization. Billed as a new outlet for girl scouts to discover and dream, the facility was made possible by a generous gift from the Berges Family Foundation.
The center is located adjacent to the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Service Center. It provides a safe, colorful space for girls from rural, urban, and suburban backgrounds to interact and learn. Inside are spaces for parents and girls to relax, socialize, and conduct programs. A large demonstration kitchen provides cooking activities, while the remainder of the floor space is open for a variety of other uses.
The three program areas given focus at the center are STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), money management, and health. One of the largest STEM programs at the center is focused on robotics, with 42 teams participating in competitions. The kitchen provides space for various program partners to provide cooking demonstrations, along with lessons on healthy living.
The new center offers several opportunities for a Print company to work with the Girl Scouts. They could make Promotional Products for their troupes or teach the girls about the printing industry.
