Maryland Heights to organize paper shredding event

The City of Maryland Heights will be holding a community event in October where locals can get rid of unwanted paper.

Those interested in safely disposing of excess papers can attend the upcoming Maryland Heights Paper Shredding Event at the Maryland Heights Government Center. Residents may bring up to five file-sized Boxes to the venue for shredding. All participants need to make sure their containers do not contain trash, batteries, or other non-paper items. Paperclips and staples are allowed to remain on the papers. The event is not intended for businesses.

The shredding service will be provided by American Document Destruction, which is a family-owned business that has operated in the St. Louis region for more than 30 years. The group offers many environmental and security-focused services, including cardboard recycling, media destruction, and hard drive destruction. Items brought to the company for destruction must not be wet and should not contain metals or plastics. Businesses that offer helpful services like this can market themselves in the community with poster printing.

The paper shredding session will take place on Saturday, October 16th. There will be several timeslots for residents to select from to prevent overcrowding, which includes 9:00 am, 9:45 am, 10:30 am, and 11:15 am. All attendees must register for the event and should enter the facility from the Dorsett Road entrance. The service is free for the public.
