Missouri 811 will hold a workshop at the Maryland Heights Community Center in February that will cover digging safety topics.
The Missouri 811 Bootcamp is a program where people can learn important information about the state’s One Call law and excavation practices. The lesson will try to answer frequently asked questions on the topics by mainly focusing on utility and excavator responsibilities. People will also be taught about the resources offered by Missouri 811 that can help excavators with their duties. These materials include educational packets, white marking flags, and stickers.
Missouri 811 is an organization that helps protect the community by notifying public underground facility owners about new dig sites in their proximity. The alert allows these facility owners to mark around their own underground sites to prevent excavators from unintentionally damaging property. Randy Norden is the group’s current executive director, and Nicholas Rasa is the organization’s education and marketing manager. The group’s Damage Prevention Managers offer free classes and job site training sessions throughout Missouri.
The bootcamp will be on February 6th from 8:00am to 11:00am. There is no fee for the workshop, though attendees must register for Missouri 811’s event before the event date. Safety organizations that offer complimentary training sessions such as this can use brochure printing to give their students reference materials they can bring home.
