Maryland Heights to host annual boat festival

The Gateway Dragon Boat Festival will be held on Creve Coeur Lake in Maryland Heights this August.

The 18th Annual Gateway Dragon Boat Festival is a competitive event where people can participate in paddling races while supporting a local organization. The money from the fest will benefit Operation Family Help, a program created by the Signature Healthcare Foundation that helps people pay for medical bills. Each team in the competition will have 20 members. Participating groups are encouraged to create their own team Banners and shirts for the event.

Companies can become sponsors to support the festival and Operation Family Help. The packages range from $4,500 to $25,500. All sponsors will receive souvenir specialty items for their team members, vocal recognition during the festival, and logo placement on the fest’s promotional materials. Businesses that pay $15,500 or more will be given priority placement for their tents and naming rights for a section of the festival. The presenting sponsor will have an opportunity for a media interview.

The boat race and fundraiser will be held on August 17th. The registration cost for nonprofit teams is $1,350, and the price for corporate teams is $1,850. Tents, folding tables, and chairs are available to rent for additional fees. Companies that participate in community fundraisers like this may use banner printing to draw attention to their stalls and promote their brand identifiers.
