The Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital in Maryland Heights will give a presentation in January about its recently debuted daycare program.
Welcome to OZ – Daycare for Hospitalized Kids is a presentation that Forms part of the hospital’s Beyond the Bedside speaker series. Attendees will learn about the Optimization Zone, which is a designated area in the hospital where children ages 0-5 can play out of their beds and socialize. The play area looks similar to a preschool, though it also has special accommodations for patients. The presentation will highlight the positive effects the zone has had on kids.
The presenters for the event are Claire Wallace and Nicholas Holekamp. Wallace is a pediatric psychologist who went to Vanderbilt University and Case Western Reserve University. She completed an internship at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Holekamp is the chief medical officer at the hospital and a writer whose research paper was published by the Journal of Pediatric Health Care. He also won the Dr. Corinne Walentik Leadership in Health Award.
The presentation will be held on Thursday, January 12 and will begin at 5:00 pm. Those interested in attending Wallace and Holekamp’s discussion on OZ can register for the program in advance. Medical organizations with informative events such as this may use flyer printing to promote their presentations to the community.
