There are diverse events occurring in late December and early 2019, and Maryland Heights residents have plenty of choice in neighboring town St. Charles.
The Foundry Art Centre, located at 520 North Main Center will continue its Out on a Limb exhibit until December 28. It is coinciding with the Out of the Woods exhibit which centers on public gardens and celebration nine years at the botanical garden in New York. The garden is an exhibit that travels around the world displaying art from the American Society for Botanical Artists.
The art centre will accept Figurative Works II until December 31. The exhibit accepts all media asking what the artist interprets as a modern portrait, detailing culture and people of today. The exhibit opens in late February and closes in April. There will a reception on February 22 from 5:30pm until 8pm. Also opening next year is the Child's Play exhibit. It details the inner child around the world using any media. It opens on January 4 and closes February 15. There will be a reception opening night at 5:30pm.
The American Legion on Raymond Drive hosts bingo games on Wednesdays. The doors will open at 4pm and the games begin at 6:30pm. Also, on Wednesdays are country and western dance lessons at the Moose Lodge Hall on Veterans Memorial Parkway. Lessons cost $6.
