The Waste Connections Sustainability Campus in Maryland Heights will hold an event in March to teach people about being environmentally friendly.
World Wildlife Celebration Day is a program for all ages that educates attendees on the importance of helping the environment’s plants and animals. The event will include a presentation on wildlife conservation and what Waste Connections is doing to make a difference. Guests can visit the facility’s beehives and explore the on-campus greenhouses on a tour led by Schmittel’s Nursery. Those at the celebration can even take part in a terrarium-building activity.
The Waste Connections Sustainability Campus is a facility that was made in a collaborative effort between Waste Connections and the City of Maryland Heights. The campus helps transform waste into energy and promotes environmental responsibility through its programs. There are two greenhouses on the campus and three beehives. The organization also plans to construct a nature trail that will overlook the Champ Landfill and the North Quarry.
The wildlife celebration event will take place on Saturday, March 1st from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. There is no cost for people to take part in Waste Connections’ program, though people may reserve their spots by registering online. Those who want to participate in the terrarium activity can bring their own jar to the event. Family-friendly events like this can be advertised with poster printing services.
