Housing proposed for St. Charles area

NT Home Builders has proposed more housing in St. Charles County in the bluffs of the Missouri River.

The same company build the St. Charles neo-urban housing development New Town and wants to continue to building in the area around Maryland Heights, specifically Chesterfield.

The new project would consist of 315 lots near the Missouri Research Park and the Missouri Bluffs Golf Club. The county would have to turn 400 acres of land into residential zoning that the University of Missouri uses for research and laboratories. The golf course would remain undisturbed.

The houses are set to sell anywhere from $500,000, $1,000,000, and over. There will also be 120 units of cluster homes or villas close to the golf clubhouse.

According to Greg Whittaker, representative of NT Home Builders, the development will feel more like a resort. The landscape is unique in the area and is similar to the Ozarks. The company hopes to preserve the landscape to decrease the impact of construction.

St. Charles County planning director Mike Hurlbert commented that the development plans are original and on a grander scale than many housing developments in the area.

Developers create visuals to show town councils what a proposed housing development would bring to the community. A poster printing company with advertising or developer experience could create clear but colorful visuals to impress the town.
