Dave Matthews 25th anniversary tour hits Maryland Heights

The Dave Matthews Band played at Maryland Height's Hollywood Casino Amphitheater on May 29.

As was announced at the beginning

of the year, the band is celebrating its 25th anniversary but members Dave Matthews, Stefan Lessary, Jeff Coffin, Boyd Tinsley, Rashawn Ross, Tim Reynolds, and Carter Beauford played the same as usual.

Around 12,000 people gathered to see them live and with the help of two screens projecting them above and behind the band. They went onstage without an opening act and jammed out through a three-hour performance without an intermission. Many fans had to take a break from the festivities from using the restroom to simply sitting down.

While they played both classics and newer songs, the atmosphere of the music changed throughout the night. The general mood was relaxed as is the style of the Dave Matthews Band. "The Space Between" and "Tripping Billies" made up the encore. Other songs in the set, which seemed to be improvised, included "Belly Belly Nice", "Where Are You Going", "Death on the High Seas", and "#41". Newer songs, such as "Bob Law", did not impress fans but the band was appreciative in sharing them with the crowd.

When popular bands play at a venue, the venue often has Posters and Signs printed to market the event several months in advance, explaining when the event is and how guests can get tickets.
