Carolina company joins Schattdecor portfolio
German decor company Schattdecor Group, which has its US headquarters in Maryland Heights, recently acquired Lexington, South Carolina-based U.S. Coating Co.
The Schattdecor Group bought all of the company's shares and now owns U. S. Coating Co. Since U.S. Coating Co supplies ornate surfaces, purchasing it will expand Schattdecor's product options for cabinets, furniture, and other customer needs.
Mike Moore, currently the CEO of U.S. Coating, will stay in his position. According to Flavio Nunes, CEO of Schattdecor, both companies benefit from the purchase as they can compare technology and strategy. Nunes notes that Schattdecor can produce more in the United States and expand its portfolio.
When companies enter partnerships like this, corporate gifts between them can both celebrate the merger and build a stronger relationship between businesses.
Started in 1994, U.S. Coating Co. uses coatings on layers of paper using an electron beam, making for an eco-friendly process. It uses finish foils that come in solid colors, and a range of finishes. With the merge, it will add its expertise to Schattdecor, which is involved in several fields.
For three decades, Schattdecor has provided furniture and paneling clients around the world with paper printed decor, melamine film, and finish foil. The company started in Germany and supplied enough paper to total around three billion square feet last year. Schattdecor will increase North American production through U.S. Coating Co. when most of it previously came from Europe.
