Earlier this week, St. Louis Cardinal Adam Wainwright hosted and sang karaoke for the Big League Impact Sing-Off.
With hundreds of attendees, the event took place on 16th January at Dave & Busters in Maryland Heights and brought in around $40,000 for the charity. Wainwright posted a video online the week before of himself belting "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift while in the shower. Wainwright enjoys using his hobbies and talents to raise money for charity. He said that there is little he will not do for charity. His outgoing disposition allows him to be goofy in front of others. He sported a cowboy hat and included dance moves into his performance. He also matched all the donations made by others. The money raised was enough to feed 2,000 local kids and bring aid to 170 people in underdeveloped countries. Wainwright was impressed by the numbers and wants to have the event each year.
Ten people who posted videos of their singing were chosen to compete for prizes including cash and a duet with Wainwright who was one of the judges. After a series of eliminations, Audri Bartholomew won $500 and a bat signed by Wainwright. She donated part of it to charity and hopes to be a professional singer. Wainwright thought her performance was perfect.
