There are many fun things to do in January at the Maryland Heights Community Center for all ages.
Children ages 6-12 are invited to participate in a Nerf war, which will take place on January 10 from 6pm-7:30pm. The cost to participate in this foam-based shootout is $8 for members of the community center, $9 for residents, and $10 for non-residents.
The battle will consist of four to five people to a team playing a rapid Capture the Flag tournament. The teams will be categorized by age. Event staff will provide eyewear, Nerf guns, and ammo. Participants may not bring their own.
From 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm on January 11, individuals 16 or older are invited to a line dance party. The DJ will be Pam Pratt. Participants will learn one or more new dance during the party.
Guests are also allowed to bring in outside food and beverages as long as it is not in a glass bottle. The cost to attend is $6, payable in cash upon arrival.
On January 14, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, children ages six months to five years old are invited to Fish Tales at the indoor pool. Children will hear a story, do an activity, and enjoy a fish-themed treat.
The cost is $3 for members $4 for residents, and $5 for non-residents. Adults attend for free as the cost is for each child. Parents and guardians can register on the Maryland Heights website.
The center is located at 2300 McKelvey Road. Community organizations use brochure printing to detail the types of programs they offer. Residents can keep them as a reminder.
