Cambridge asked to contribute to local food drive

Cambridge is known for being a city that cares, and this generous spirit will be on full display when one of its financial institutions runs a “food raising” event.

The management and staff at First Bank and Trust, which is located at 234 East First Avenue, will be running a food drive throughout March. It has set a goal of collecting at least 1,000 items.

People who would like to support the initiative can drop off their contribution of canned and boxed foods and other non-perishables, and a list has been prepared of items that are needed the most. Food, toiletries, and personal hygiene items such as soap and dental products are all in particular demand. Donations will be passed along to the Isanti County Food Pantry. To maximize the impact of the activity, the bank will contribute $1 for each item dropped off, up to a maximum total of $1,000.

A food drive helps to make sure everyone in a community has healthy food on their table. A poster printing company can prepare materials that let the public know how, when, and where they can get involved in a service project.

The Fill the Pantry activity will run from March 1 to March 31. The community's Chamber of Commerce’s website offers more details about the initiative.
