Seekonk battery store owners plan new local outlet
Josh, Karen, and Joe Britland, who have operated and owned the Batteries Plus store in Seekonk for the past two years, say they hope to open a new location of the chain in Warwick, Rhode Island.
There has been a recent increase in demand for one-stop power solutions for businesses and consumers, with products ranging from batteries for powering industrial equipment and fleet vehicles to key fob replacements and smartphone repairs. The market in New England is turning to Batteries Plus for its same-day services, personalized customer care, and technical expertise. The Britland family has had a connection to Batteries Plus since 2013. Josh joined the store in Seekonk as an associate and had a wide-ranging background in automotive mechanics, which enabled him to make a flawless transition to his position at the store. He soon became a manager and remained in that role for 10 years until he was approached with an offer for him and his family to purchase the store.
The Britlands are preparing to bring additional Batteries Plus stores throughout southern New England. They are looking forward to continuing to build a business with roots in customer care, family values, and a connection to the community. Matt and Christopher, Josh’s two brothers, will be joining the family business in this new phase of development.
The store is planned to open within the next two years.
