Jewish delicatessen to open in Seekonk area
An authentic Jewish delicatessen will be coming to Pawtucket this spring. Residents of nearby Seekonk interested in this type of food will not want to miss the opening.
Jason Sugarman is the owner of Maven’s Deli. He has run several successful restaurants in his career and is looking to have the best deli in Rhode Island.
Maven’s will have 100 seats, and all menu items, including the rye bread and the favorite noodle kugel, will be cooked in-house. His plan is that the menu will be attractive to everyone, whether they are followers of Judaism or not. Consequently, he said that about 30% of the menu will be new concepts. Jamie D’Oliveira is his executive chef and partner, and they are working to create a menu that will offer the traditions of a Jewish delicatessen along with some new ideas.
Promotional products can be developed by such new restaurants to help promote a unique concept throughout an area.
Sugarman said that literacy will be a focus of Maven’s, and every child will be given a comic to read not only to keep them busy but to inspire them. There will be physical newspapers so people can relax and enjoy their meals.
The space for the restaurant is currently being renovated with an opening planned for late spring.
