A long-standing program that is an initiative of the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve will be partnering with the Vero Beach Elks Lodge #1774 to help make the holidays magical for all local kids.
The Lodge has organized its 8th annual toy drive, and the items collected will be gathered and distributed through Toys for Tots. The Marines will do the heavy lifting, and to help make the program a success, the Elks have planned a fundraising dinner and dance as well as a toy drive.
The service club will host a surf and turf dinner, and everyone has been asked to bring an unwrapped toy, bike helmet, or a bike, as these will be given to kids in the area who may not otherwise have a gift to open. This activity was first started by the group's bartender Rosie.
The organizers of the activity noted that they may be reached at 772-562-8450 to make arrangements for a donation drop-off, or to purchase tickets for the dinner and dance. A printing services company can be counted on to supply an assortment of marketing materials for fundraisers, which may help to ensure they meet their goals.
The date for this evening will be this Saturday, December 4, and it will be held at 1350 26th Street beginning at 5:00 pm.
