Brandon store offers woodworking classes
Rockler Woodworking and Hardware store in Brandon will welcome the new year by offering six woodworking classes.
On Sunday, December 31st from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm there will be an Intro to Power Tools class where attendees may learn about safety, set-up and operating procedures for a drum sander, planer, bandsaw and tablesaw. Admission will be $75.
Wooden Pen Turning will be the focus of the Monday January 1st class. From 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm attendees will use a wood lathe to make and take custom wooden pens. Admission will cost $75.
A Relief “Tiki” Carving Class on Tuesday will feature relief carving techniques using carving chisels and gouges to fashion a “Tiki” figure. The class will cost $75.
Thursday’s class will be creating Wood & Epoxy Charcuterie Boards by cutting shapes into wood that will be provided, seal the mold which will also be provided, choose a color, mix deep pour epoxy, and swirl their designs as they pour the epoxy into molds. The cost will be $125.
Friday, January 5th Spray finishing class will include types of available HVLP Sprayers, basic techniques, and finishing products that may be sprayed. The two-hour class will begin at 4:30 pm and cost $75.
For $150 attendees at the January 6th class will be making Mid-Century Modern Clocks.
