Brandon canines get their day
St. Puppy’s Day is coming soon and it will be the 11th year for the event. This will be a family and dog- friendly event.
A dog costume contest will have winners in best male, best female and best dog and owner look-a-like categories. There will be a 50/50, Chinese raffle and a lottery board.
Local pet-oriented vendors will be at the site with dog supplies, food and puppy care. Some of these merchants will include Superdog Outfitters, Earth Wise, Pet’s Supplies Plus and Happy Tails pet sitting.
Bayshore Dog Training will be sending a representative, Victoria Parker, who will give tips and demonstrations. She will also hold a Q&A session.
Entertainment and music will be provided by MC Angel Marin and DJ Grimey Official.
Some of the proceeds will go to local humane charities 4Lucky Dogs and Second Chance Friends. 4Lucky Dogs is a non-profit Pet Rescue that’s mission is to Rescue, Rehab, Rehome, Repeat. It specializes in finding homes for dogs and cats. Second Chance Friends is a dog rescue with a mission to give humans a second chance to provide healthy, loving and safe homes for neglected and abused dogs.
The event organizers would appreciate some kind-hearted Brandon residents to get a little flyer printing done and distribute flyers in their businesses and neighborhoods.
The fun will be Sunday, March 11th from 2:00 pm until 6:00 at O’Brien’s Irish Pub and Grill, 701 W. Lumsden Road.
