What's Happening in Wilmington, DE…

Wilmington's concert series almost underway

Concerts and films in the parks are part of summer fun in cities across the country, and Wilmington is no different.

The Delaware State Parks are partnering with the Friends of Wilmington Parks to present “Live! In the Parks: 2019 Summer Concert Series.” The concerts take place in two locations – Brandywine Park and Rockford Park – and are free to all.

Concertgoers are urged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, and pets are also welcome, as are picnic baskets. If people would rather not bring picnics with them, food will be available to purchase. Alcoholic beverages will be available at each concert at the Sugar Bowl, and at selected concerts in Rockford Park. Banner printing is often used to bring decorations for events like this.

Although the series is already started, there are plenty of concerts to come. The shows are in Rockford Park on Mondays at 6:30 pm, and the Sugar Bowl on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. Upcoming dates and performances at Rockford Park are:

July 8 - Jea Street Jr.
July 15 - Joy Ike
July 22 - Melanie Brulee
July 29 - Betty & the Bullet
August 5 - Spokey Speaky
August 12 - Revolution Heroes

At the Sugar Bowl, the lineup is:

July 10 - Darnell Miller
July 17 - Kitty Mayo & Venom Blues
July 24 - Pristine Raeign
July 31 - Hepner's Rebellion
August 7 - Frantastic Noise
August 14 - Megan Knight
August 21 - Sirsby
