Wilmington rings in New Year
Both Wilmington adults and children will be able to celebrate New Year’s Eve with events geared especially to them.
The Brandywine Zoo at 1001 N Park Drive will celebrate with crafts, and a sparkling cider toast at 12:00 noon. The program will be outdoors, so attendees will need to dress warmly. Admission will be free to Zoo members and $5 for non-members.
A Confetti Countdown will be at the Delaware Children’s Museum from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. The countdowns will be on the hour starting at 11:00 am and ending at 2:00 pm. We Kids Rock! will be giving musical performances throughout the day.
For the adults, Docklands, 110S West Street, will hold its New Year’s Eve Party stating at 8:00 pm. Their NYE packages include a dinner buffet, dancing, and entertainment by DJ Kardiar, DJ Willoughby, and live bands The Red Hotts and Cherry Crush.
Early-bird general admission until December 31 is $89, and along with the buffet and music it includes drink ticket, coat check, and valet.
The price for preferred dining room seating for couples, and tables of four or six, will be $145 per guest. These include all previous amenities and reserve a table for the entire evening.
New Year’s Eve pictures are often taken to local stationery printers to be the first addition to the family’s new yearly calendar.
