Wilmington gallery enjoys milestone year
The Grand Galleries in Wilmington, after being closed for a year, has announced reopening in time to celebrate its 150th anniversary.
The reopening launches a three-month exhibit of art starting this Friday, October 1, that will include two receptions in the gallery with the artists involved. Guests can return to the theaters and admire the exquisite and unique gallery walls.
On November 5, a special reception will be held that will feature several artists onsite to discuss their particular artworks.
Artists have an opportunity to sign up to include their art exhibits at The Grand. The organization is looking for artists interested in displaying their art at both galleries for the coming year. Each artist will be given the chance to show their work for a month. They will also be invited to participate in the City of Wilmington’s Art On the Town which is also often referred to as the “Art Loop.” Each show will be included in the Out and About Magazine distributed locally as well as through the venue’s websites.
Artists often work with local print shops to have business cards created and printed. The business cards contain contact information for the purpose of developing clients for future orders.
The Grand Galleries are located at 818 N. Market Street. More information about the reopening and anniversary celebration is available via the website.
