Train fans to steam ahead to Wilmington
Marshall Steam Museum at Yorklin, just a short distance from Wilmington, features “Behind the Steam: Model Trains” which offers a special presentation each month. The sessions address the history of trains as well as other industrial progress over the centuries.
The museum provides an extensive display of Stanley steam cars and others in their collection. The upcoming session will take a detailed look at the featured Westinghouse Radio and the evolution of radio into mainstream.
Donna Acerra will join the discussion. A at Northampton Community College professor, Acerra will discuss the “Golden Age of Radio.”
The museum is operated by the Friends of Auburn Heights and is partnered with Delaware State Parks. It was established in 2004 as a non-profit organization for the purpose of displaying an extraordinary collection of the Marshall Family’s automobiles. The organization offers programs to suit all ages and includes public education pertaining to industrial history and steam technology.
Brochures are often used to promote public programs, and can include images and enticing content to advertise the components of a venue. Brochure printing is typically handled by local printing services.
The Marshall Steam Museum is located at 3000 Creek Rd on Route 82. The upcoming segment will take place on February 18 starting at 7:00 pm. Admission is free for members or $5 for general admission.
